Founder of TEA. Curious, a communicator, communicative, a lover of languages, and passionate about people. Addicted to tea, chocolate, and beautiful spaces to sit in just for the pleasure of being there.
I was born in Angola, grew up in Portugal, and live between the two, but I love to travel and see the world. I speak Portuguese as a first language, English as a second, and Spanish, French, and Italian as foreign languages. Umbundu and Kimbundu are my ancestral languages.
All of this, combined with a habit of questioning the status quo, led me to create TEA in 2013 as a rebellious response to the traditional learning system.
My academic background began in human development, not in literature or linguistics. Perhaps that’s why my vision of language learning is so different.
I’ve been facilitating learning processes for adults since 2007, as a teacher, trainer, and mentor, but more and more, I consider myself a learner rather than a teacher.
I’m the People & Processes manager, a fancy way of saying I’m the one who pulls all the pieces of this beautiful puzzle that is TEA together.
After many years in boutique hotels, I moved into a boutique language school. I brought the discipline that working in a kitchen demands, but also the customer focus and attention to detail that TEA practices every day.
I love communicating, but I love even more listening to people’s stories, and above all, I love supporting each person on their individual journey.
That’s why I’m here: to listen to you, support you along the way, and celebrate your wins (even the ones you didn’t notice yourself).
I’m from Brazil, but I’ve lived in Portugal since 2021. I listen to music like I need it to breathe, I love reading pretty much anything, and I’m a big fan of board games.
My journey with English started at age 9, I was obsessed with Michael Jackson and wanted to understand every lyric. Teaching was never the original plan: I started out in the performing arts, with singing, acting and dance. But I always loved guiding and supporting other people, and when the opportunity came up, I took it.
I started out with traditional methodologies and quickly realized that wasn’t my path. I applied what I’d learned from my own experience of learning languages on my own, and that’s what brought me to TEA.
